Tips on Choosing the Right Fence

What to Look For When Shopping for a Custom Trailer

A custom trailer can be just what you need for keeping your heavy-duty equipment safe and secure when on the road, or for use as a remote business location, such as for those who do repairs on the road or who sell items at carnivals, fairs, and the like. When you are in the market for a new custom trailer, you may find that there are more options available to you than you realized. Note a few of these options so you know you get the right type, and know what to discuss with a custom trailer manufacturer.

1. Tradesmen trailers

Tradesmen trailers are those that are meant to be used as a workstation when on the road. They may or may not have a ramp for loading and unloading heavy-duty equipment, but will usually have window areas cut into the sides for easy selling of items or interacting with customers. The sides may also open up to the top so that they form a shaded area around the trailer. A tradesmen trailer may also be outfitted with a small air conditioner or heater, making work inside much more comfortable, as well as plugs and outlets for a generator and cords; they may even have lights, and be custom made with workspaces or storage to fit your particular needs.

2. Tipping trailers

Tipping trailers usually work with hydraulics to tip from front to back, or one side or another. If you're a landscaper or other professional who may need to haul loose gravel, rocks, soil, and other such debris, these can make unloading very easy on you. Be sure you opt for the right direction in tipping; side tippers make it easy to fill in trenches whereas front to back tippers can make unloading very quick.

3. PMG trailers

A PMG trailer is a smaller, lightweight trailer with an A-frame top that is usually used just for carrying tools that you load and unload by hand, although some may have an added ramp attached to the back for holding a lawnmower or other such riding equipment. The smaller size and A-frame top of the PMG trailer makes accessing your tools very easy, as you don't need to remove a large tarp when something is needed. You also don't need to walk onto the trailer, around a lawnmower or other equipment in the back,  when you only need a certain tool. Their lighter weight also makes a PMG trailer a good option for towing behind smaller vehicles.
